You sir are a nimrod. Old Fezziwig's is by far the finest beer in the holiday classics 12-pack, and by itself worth the cost. You would realize this if your tastebuds were more refined...perhaps you should stop licking the gravel in the alley behind your local pub.

i think you really hit upon the problem with green tea that comes in tea bags... its just not the same. black tea you can get away with, especially with plenty of milk & sugar... but green tea, you really have to have to the whole leaf.

have you tried online retailers?
www.adagio.com in particular is where i'm getting most of my tea from nowadays

and oh, we've moved our site -- www.aqueousphase.org :)

best of luck w/your future tj teas!

Hello, I was googling Trader Joe's Irish Breakfast tea and ended up here. I have been trying tea from TJ and luckily I haven't bought any of the tea you mentioned here, they sure don't sound too good! I thught of getting the blueberry tea though, I didn't.
The Irish Breakfast tea is really strong and perfect with milk and sugar. Personally I never liked green tea they sell in those stores - I grew up in Japan drinking real green tea every day and ... yeah. They also never mention green tea must be brewed with warm water (approx. 145-160F) although otherwise it will lose the scent and get really blend. (I know a lot of people don't like green tea because "it tastes blend" ... doh) It is really hard to drink good green tea so I just ask my family in Japan to send tea they buy from the local stores.
My other favorite tea is Paradise's Tropical Iced Tea they carry at TJ, and TAZO's Earl Grey. :)

Mrmmm, that's actually how I started drinking wine -- red wine diluted with POM. makes anything palatable to the novice tastebud!

To clarify my position somewhat: it's certainly true that I'm not a big fan of Sam Adams, but I've had the Winter Lager and it's really just fine, as is the Cream Stout (I've never tried the other three "special" ones Dandan reviewed).

In essence, there are two things for which I have trouble forgiving Sam Adams: 1) The Octoberfest, which to me tastes like alcoholic sugarwater (it was on tap last fall at my local pub and very competitively priced, which is why I've spent this much time thinking about it), 2) Sam Adams distracts the general public from the far superior Boston brewery: Harpoon.
